Context:

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, and the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the incumbent will contribute to the implementation of project activities and donor reporting, under the thematic area of Immigration and Border Management (IBM) in the IOM Thailand Country Office.

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

       Particularly, he/she will carry out the following duties:

  1. Support the Project Manager in the implementation of activities under IBM, which can include, but is not limited to, tasks ranging from assistance in organizing workshops and meetings, participation in meetings with project partners, government counterparts and the donor, conducting monitoring and evaluation, etc.
  2. Make logistical and administrative arrangements to support implementation of capacity building activities under the project, including but not limited to developing agendas, identifying dates, venues and presenters, facilitating invitations, preparing materials, preparing and completing administrative requirements, and facilitating transportation and logistical arrangements as necessary, in line with the financial, technical and human resources of the project.
  3. Support the Project Manager in liaison with all national stakeholders under the project to ensure productive working relationships with all national project counterparts, most especially relevant agencies of the Royal Thai Police.
  4. Support the Project Manager in preparing and/or delivering project presentations and facilitating training activities where appropriate.
  1. Provide support to the IBM team in preparing project documents and communications materials including agenda, factsheets, minutes, and training materials, and contribute to their dissemination and delivery.
  1. Provide support to the IBM team in drafting meeting/training reports, periodic donor reports, interim and final project reports.
  2. Liaise with the IOM Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific as needed to ensure the necessary technical resources and expertise for successful implementation of the project.
  3. Perform such other duties as may be required.

 

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • University Degree in law, international relations, political science, security studies, or relevant field with at least 2 years of relevant working experience.
  • At least two years of work experience in migration issues for non‐governmental organizations, international governmental organizations or government institutions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a multi‐cultural environment and respect diversity
  • Sound knowledge of programme development, implementation and evaluation and familiarity with financial and business administration
  • Sound knowledge of Immigration and Border Management and Counter Trafficking principles, practices and challenges a distinct advantage
  • Team work oriented but with a capacity to work independently
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Computer literate

 

Languages

Fluency in English and Thai.
