Position Summary

Greenpeace undertakes direct actions, direct communications, Photo ops and Protests as an integral part of its campaigns to create change. 

Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organization which uses Non Violent Direct Action to expose global environmental problems and to force solutions to a green and peaceful future. 

The Public Engagement and Actions Unit is responsible for the management of our action warehouse, equipment, vehicles, training and coordination of our direct action activists and the day-to-day management of security issues within Greenpeace Thailand. The unit is also responsible for developing and improving the capacity for rapid response operations in the Thailand. 

Key Duties


Security Management

Overall physical security management for Thailand operations including all campaign related field work, office/warehouse environments, Direct Dialogue fundraising teams, GPSEA staff and staff working in higher-risk areas in the Thailand, including:

Educational Background & Fundamental Qualifications

Level of Education:

Bachelor’s degree

Field of Study:

Any field

Work Experience:

At least 5 years’ experience in coordinating and/or team leading in events and/or direct actions.

3 year qualification in logistics will serve as added advantage. 

3 year qualification in security management will serve as added advantage.

·       Ability to travel and spend time away from home

·       Budget management experience

·       Understanding of environmental and peace issues

·       Experience working successfully in a cross cultural international environment

·       Experience of working in Southeast Asia.

Desirable Qualities and Skills:

Experience as a trainer (Greenpeace or otherwise) in one or more of; boat driving, climbing, NVT and HAZMAT

Experience working with Greenpeace ships or marine based knowledge an advantage.

Experience and/or training in security assessments and management.



Normal hours of work for full time Employee will be forty (40) per week or (5) days in a week, at 8 hours per day excluding an hour lunch break. This will be from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am to 6: 30 pm. Ordinary hours of work may be varied as agreed between staff and the line managers.


A permanent employee will be entitled to the following leaves:

Annual Leave: 20 days

Parental Leave:  As per labor laws and Greenpeace policy

Long Service Leave: 2 months paid leave after 5 years of continuous service

Compassionate leave: maximum of 5 days for the death of significant others


In determining salary offer for this position, Greenpeace applies its Salary Grading Process, taking into consideration the job description and applicant’s previous experience, and the organization’s salary grade.
