The organization has the global footprint, deep field presence and local knowledge and relationships necessary to provide access to nutritious food and contribute to the lasting solutions, especially in many of the world’s most remote and fragile areas.

The Bangkok Competence Center (BCC) develops and supports IT solutions with a focus on the needs of country offices and digital transformation. The BCC reports to the Digital Solutions Delivery Branch (based in Rome, Italy) which oversees all solution development activities for WFP, covering the full technology stack and delivering changes to existing solutions. This function manages all aspects of development, from understanding business requirements to designing and building solutions and overseeing quality assurance.

WFP is seeking suitably qualified THAI nationals for IT Solutions Associate, who will provide technical support on the development, maintenance, testing and implementation of a portion of IT solutions in line with business requirements.

Organizational Context

At this level job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis.

Job Purpose:

 

 

To provide technical support on the development, maintenance, testing and implementation of a portion of IT solutions in line with business requirements.

 

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

1. Keep up-to-date technical systems documentation for developed IT solutions in order to support systems maintenance.
2. Perform unit and integrated testing of new, enhanced or fixed code in order to ensure completeness and adherence to technical specifications.
3. Assist in the installation, configuration and customization of IT systems ensuring compliance with WFP’s IT standards, guidelines and procedures.
4. Assist in the release of IT systems and provide early life support in order to prepare for and enable proper use of the IT solution.
5. Resolve users queries independently, escalating if required, to ensure that standard IT questions are answered and accurate information is provided.
6. Assist in the preparation of materials and the delivery of trainings on automated business processes to ensure efficient and effective use of IT systems.
7. Collect and collate data, conduct basic analysis to support the development of accurate reports.
8. Any other related tasks

Education:

Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable. University degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology Management, or related fields would be an advantage.

Experience & skills:

1. Has minimum 2 years of experience in IT Solutions Development environments, or IT Service Management
2. Experience of Software Development Lifecycle e.g. from requirements gathering to testing and release
3. Experience authoring Software Requirements: Use Cases, User Stories and Exit Criteria
4. Experience testing of Software solutions: Browser based and mobile device based
5. Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
6. Experience with the Atlassian's suite of Software Development tools: JIRA, Confluence
7. Experience dealing with end users and providing support
8. IT Savvy in terms of using modern information management tools
9. Knowledge of Database concepts and systems desirable
10. Knowledge or Data analysis desirable

Fluency in both oral and written communication in Thai and English.
