Plan International Job Advertisement: Events Coordinator
Plan is an international humanitarian, child-centered development organization, implementing development programs that promote the realization and fulfilment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty.
Position: Events Coordinator
Assignment duration: Permanent contract
Duty station: Bangkok
JOB BACKGROUND: Plan International strives for a just world that advances children’s right and equality for girls. Plan International is working in 71 countries across the world and in 14 countries in Asia. The international Head Quarters (IH) is based in the UK and the Asia Regional Office and Thailand Country Office are located in the same building in Bangkok. Plan International holds frequent international meetings and events in Bangkok. The incumbent will be required to plan, organize, manage and coordinate international events and meetings in and around Bangkok.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Logistics for external meetings and events as per Plan International procedures to ensure high quality meetings; Arrangement of accommodations for participants; Support for meeting organizers including meeting rooms, meals, arrival services, invitations, etc.; Undertake procurement processes and service contracts with hotels and event organizers to insure cost effectiveness; Support meetings on-site; Assist meeting participants in obtaining visas and entry to Thailand; Hotel security assessments and security briefing as required; Assist the Manager in preparing related reports and other work as assigned.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Social Science or related field; Minimum three years’ experience with event management, administration or similar capacity is preferred; Reliable and punctual; Flexible and service oriented; Able to manage competing demands; Able to build strong relationships with staff at all levels; Computer literate with proficient use of Microsoft Office applications; Good command of spoken and written English; Team player; Comfortable with working with people from different cultures.
