Position:       Growing Together Project Officer (one open position)

Handicap International (HI) seeks Growing Together project officer, based in Mae Sot office, Tak province, regular working in temporary shelter:  Ban Mae Ra Ma Luang and Ban Mae La Oon in Mae Hong Son province.

 

Closing date: 16st June, 2017

It works alongside people with disabilities, offering them assistance and supporting them in their efforts to become self-reliant.  Since its creation, the organisation has set up programmes in approximately 60 countries worldwide and intervened in many emergency situations.  

 

Handicap International in Thailand is currently supporting projects along the Thailand - Burma border focusing on the following:

 

Growing Together Project General Mission

Growing Together project in 5 camps (3 Tak camps and 2 Mae Sariang camps) focusing on enabling children with disabilities or chronic illnesses, children at risk of developmental delays and psychological distress (0-12 years old), to develop their full potential on an equal basis with other children and acquire fundamental educational and social skills through games, sport, cultural arts, early years’ education and complementary learning, as well as support to their family members and/or caregivers.  Implementing and managing the Growing Together project activities at the field level under the supervision of his/her project Manager and to enhance capacity of Growing Together Camp Based Staff to ensure the quality of the project activities and services, and promote inclusion and equal participation.

 

 

Growing Together Project Officer’s Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility 1: Plan, monitor and implement the Growing Together project activities and ensure quality of services provision.    Aim: Ensure the activities are implemented on time with the adequate quality of services.
  • Responsibility 2: Empower, build capacity and coach HI camp staff, community staff and camp staff from other agencies on Growing Together project activities.  Aim: Build capacity of Growing Together community staff to be able to provide community services with high quality standards, as well as community volunteers, parents and /or caregivers and service providers.
  • Responsibility 3: Ensure communication, networking and coordination at field level for Growing Together activities.  Aim: Under the supervision of his/her line manager, ensure implementation of good practices and good communication.

 

 

Qualifications requiers/ Desire Profile :

Education : Graduate and degree on Early Child and Development Education, Special Education, Psychology education, Development education or related fields from college/university or minimum education : higher school level with proven skills on capacity building/teaching/awareness raising sessions and communications.

 

Knowledge and skills required:

 

Extra requirement:

 

Other qualifications : Good level of written, reading and spoken Thai. Good organizing, multi-tasks, able to work under pressure with multicultural environment, analytical skills & good decision making, good communications & team player, and flexible.
